POST CONTEXT

The HQ CMDT Department of Public Works Electrical/Heating Maintenance Section operates and maintains all buildings, infrastructure, Air Conditioning Systems, high, low voltage cables and sub-stations at Butmir camp. Also carries out electrical maintenance of all other HQ CMDT sites theater wide. The Electrical/Heating Supervisor is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all NHQ-SA installations

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Advise the Director of Public Works and the HQ CMDT on the issues regarding base operations in the area of electrical and heating maintenance.
• Prepare and supervise programs for the planned preventive maintenance, inspection and testing, and repair of electrical/heating distribution systems and equipment in all buildings and infrastructure facilities within NHQ-SA and HQ CMDT areas of responsibility.
• Supervise the execution of approved new minor electrical work services and the execution of electrical services provided through direct labour or contract.
• Prepare tasking and supervision of teams of local contract hire workers engaged in the maintenance and repair of electrical/heating systems and equipment.
• Responsible for quality control on all work carried out by electrical/heating maintenance section.
• Develop and keep up-to-date a schedule of periodical preventive maintenance and testing of electrical/heating equipment, including: portable appliances, fixed installations and hand power tools and equipment.
• Supervise safety measures in respect of hazards to personnel, and equipment, and first aid to prevent accidents and injuries likely to be sustained in the general working area.
• Plan and support material ordering and manage the issue of electrical material and equipment for electrical/heating systems.
• Assist in the preparation of contract documents for provision of maintenance services.
• Supervise the performance of service contracts to ensure compliance with the contract specifications.
• Monitor installation electrical/diesel fuel usage for analysis of cost reductions and provide accurate usage rates to assure proper cost payments.
• Carry out reimbursable electrical work on behalf of SOR units and the NATO infrastructure committee.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of three years experience at supervisor level of the repair and maintenance of electrical installations, air conditioning equipment and diesel fired heating systems.
• University Degree in Electrical Engineering, and or Electrical Mechanical Engineering
• English: minimum professional (3333)
• Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian: native language (5555)
• ADP knowledge: Able to use MS Word and Excel.
